Research interests
Maria Orosan-Telea specializes in contemporary art with particular interests in Romanian art after 1990. During her Ph.D. she conducted a research study about Romanian art in the post-communist period. Her areas of interest include Modern and Contemporary Art, Neo-Conceptualism, New Media, Postmodernism, the relationship between art and politics, visual semiotics and critical theory in art. As a curator, she has carried out a series of projects in collaboration with the Avantpost group. In 2018 he founded the Draft Curatorial Program which presents ongoing art projects and ideas. Between 2019 and 2021 she was research assistant for the project Gender Politics and the Art of European Socialist States, initiated by Adam Mickiewicz University from Poznań, supported by the Getty Foundation.
