Call for Papers
The Faculty of Arts and Design, West University of Timișoara, and the Center for Curatorial Research, Art History and Criticism, Heritage Studies (CICASP) welcome submission for the Design & Art Papers, publishing the research presented during the 2025 November 27th and 28th International Conference entitled Urban Body – Human Body. Bridging Heritage and Contemporary Art.
As the built heritage and the contemporary arts are valuable ingredients of a lively and healthy cultural environment, it is important to find ways to accommodate both their specificities. Even more, they can mutually potentiate and complement each other, leading to more lively and inclusive cities.
We welcome submissions on the following topics, but other topics can be approached as well:
- Mutual inspirations visual arts – architecture;
- Performance and Body Art in heritage environments;
- Restoration as a form of architectural and artistic innovation;
- Ruins and neglect – an opportunity for artistic interventions;
- Enhancing the visibility of built heritage through arts;
- Artistic interventions on the built heritage;
- Interacting with built heritage and art in public spaces;
- Cultural heritage as a driver of innovation and creativity;
- Monuments and counter-monuments in historical places.
The language of the article is English.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Submit the articles through this form.
Indicate in text the reference to your image or figure. Up to 5 images or figures can be uploaded per article.
Make sure you name your Word Doc and Attachments in the same manner, with title + article, title + img.1, etc, as shown below:

DEADLINES
- Deadline for first draft before peer review: September 15th.
- Acceptance decision & peer review: September 27th.
- Deadline for the final draft: October 20th.
- Publication: December 2025 – February 2026.
GUIDELINES
Title: brief and comprehensive
Author: full name, e-mail address, and title and affiliation
Abstract: The abstract should briefly introduce the manuscript, not exceeding 200 words. No citations should be included in the abstract.
Keywords: 3 to 6 keywords
Text: Please use British English spelling, with Font size 12, Times New Roman, spaced at 1,5, and justified alignment. We cannot provide English language editing. Therefore, please review the text, preferably together with a native speaker.
Only papers presenting original research that has not been published previously will be considered for publication.
Citation: Use Chicago Style for the Endnotes, References and Web Sources. Use the regular Chicago Style Notes, and not the shortened notes. Make sure that you are using Endnotes and not in-text citations, or footnotes.
