Arts in Times of Crisis and Transformation
Arts in Times of Crisis and Transformation
Faculty of Arts and Design
West University of Timisoara, Romania
The Faculty of Arts and Design, West University of Timisoara, and the Center for Curatorial Research, Art History and Criticism, Heritage Studies (CICASP) welcome proposals for the International Conference Arts in Times of Crisis and Transformation.
The conference is open to researchers in the field of visual arts and to artists whose theoretical or creative work examine various crises — political, ideological, or identity-related — that shaped the world as we know it today or that are currently affecting our societies. The conference is also looking for papers that delve into the ways in which arts approached or were affected by the accelerated transformations that societies are now undergoing or that have affected them in the past. In a turbulent world, where certainties are scarce, our conference aims at creating a space of dialogue on how arts and artists deal with change and emergency.
